About

We’re La Malinche Coffee & Tea House, and we’ve been a coffee shop and tea house here in Chicago, IL, since 2021. We offer coffee, tea, paninis, chilaquiles, artisan fruit tea, cafe de olla, and much more.

This cafe was opened by Marlene Torres and her husband Tato. She -who was a DACA recipient- had the dream of opening a cafe but for health issues they had to sell the business just. a few months after the opening.

Then, we acquired the business avoiding the closure of it.

My wife Yvette and me Héctor used to own a cafe in México city just before we move to Chicago in 2016. Our dream was to own our business in Chicago and that’s the way we accomplished it: continuing the dream and legacy of other two dreamers by sharing a little piece of Mexican culture telling the story of an historical misunderstood woman such as Malinche.

We work on creating a home like space where our guests are able to work, share, study or just have a good time by a mix of authentic flavors, ingredients, decor, art and friendly service that reflects the beautiful diversity of our community and the communities surrounding us.

We’re looking forward to partnering with the Pilsen, West Loop, and Bronzeville neighborhoods to continue to offer a premier coffee shop experience.
